I'm thinking about building another AR upper and I wanted to know if anyone has used the evolution barrels, I see they are expensive $414.55 in brownells catalog are they worth the $$$?
They are match barrels in stainless steel with built in muzzle breaks. ??

I've only seen one in the same catalog. On another site, I saw someone had talked with some people who do have them and he said they're very satisfied with them.

Personally, if I was going to spend that kind of cash on just a barrel, I'd get a Krieger NM 1:7.75 twist. They run about $400 and have superior accuracy.:D

yeah KR barrels are better no doubt, but I can get the evolution barrel for dealers cost $312 (with the $90 extra I can get a free float handguard for it.) and I'd be using 55 grain bullets in it, not for High power where you use heavier bullets 69 75 80's. So I don't need a 1-7 twist if I do I have a colt 1-7, match gun for CMP high power matches. I just thought, I'd get a 20" bull for dusting rocks, beer cans, clay targets, and IPSC 3 gun match shooting. I have a 16" bull ASA upper also but it has no FH or MB so shooting it at dusk /night it is amazing how much flash you get out of it blind-N  I just want a barrel that shoots tight like an AR should. :ar15:
