Hey, everybody sit here board, so I thought I'd post something just for a little fun, and maybe we might even learn something from each other. Everybody post pics of their set up, be it chest rig, plate carrier, battle belt, duty belt. Basically what gear works for you. What do you use to carry your 30 round mags? What do you use to carrier 20 round mags? What are those pouches attached to? What else is in your set up? So let's all swap ideas and gear porn either. Just for fun, or we might learn something to help our own personal set up!!!

I have a cheapo heavy canvas shoulder bag - black - that carrys 3 10rd and 3 20rd mags, some spare ammo and related Mini30 items.
I'm interested to see what others use and maybe get an idea for carrying mags for my Marlin Camp 9 (back-up to my M30)

Mag pouches

I received these Midway mag pouches as a gift. One hold 4 Mini 30 magazines quite nicely! The other is loaded with XD9 & XD45 mags. They come with flimsy shoulder straps, plus Molle attachments. I haven't actually carried them out to the field yet, but they do look nice!

hey, passtime hopefully we'll get some people to post all kinds of ideas and pics. Why myself and searching. I have a butt load of gear from trying this and trying that I would post pictures, but I do not have a camera. Currently, but I will tell you best bet out of all the gear that I've had is tactical tailor compass strobe pouches. Those will hold your 20 round mags perfectly and protect them very well and very easy access to them. I highly recommend under the best that I've come across for 20 round mags so hope that helps you out 30 round mags going with Black Hawk s.t.r.i.k.e single M4 mag pouches, the one with speed clips! They're meant to hold to, but I do not recommend putting to still mags in the same case without a spacer, especially after what you pay for them. They will hold one snuggly and protect its top and the speed clips can be a little frustrating, but once you get used to them. They're actually very fast and convenient

From left to right: (3) 30rd korea mags in a AK mag pouch. (2) 20rd in a typical GI M4, they are a little tight. Last is a UTG M1A pouch, holds 4 mags, nice fit.

U.S. Issue LC1 LBE (Web Gear) carry eight mags. 3-30rd. 2-20rd. on belt 2-20rd. in stock pouch with 1 in the rifle. This was the same type i was issued in the 1980's it worked fine then and still works fine today. sorry but i just had to add old plain jane to the pic.

No, that's a Good Thing, so we can find out what [Colt-type] pouches will work for Ruger mags. I don't think there's much out there, at least not that I've seen yet, that really says it'll fit Ruger mags. I don't want to invest in anything and then find out it's going to be a PITA to get mags out if I need them in a hurry.
I'd like to think anything that works for AR-platform will work for a Mini, but I'd rather find out without dumping a bunch of time and money into it.

I'm off to check out that Midway stuff that CigarSmoker posted. I have a black mesh vest kicking around that I think has MOLLE attachments on it.

Kinda wish I still had some of my old web gear.

Here guys. I'm going to try to put some links to some of my gear because I have no camera right now. Check out the one from BDS tactical. I highly recommend it. I just got it today and you can get it in FG. A tacs. It's called a spent mag pouch. It attaches to your thigh and belt it has a cover, it folds back on itself to reveal 2 elastic lips or slit like a tissue box after your magazine is spent you just take it and slide it through the slit. That way you can keep all your 20 round mags, but it doesn't work so well for our 30 round mags maybe three or four, but I would go over that, but it'll hold about six or 7 20 round mags and I'll try to put in the version of the same thing from tactical tailor, but I am sold on the BDS tactical version BDS Tactical Modular Spent Mag Pouch

Okay, there it is. The BDS version, which I highly recommend, or the tactical tailor version and I highly recommend the tactical tailor compass strobe pouches for 20 round mags. I have searched high and low to the ends of the earth for a good pouch to carry 20 round mags and another for a member suggested these to me. I also have everything hooked up to a custom BDS chest rig in FG. A tacs. Just the base model, though, then add the tactical tailor pouches and I've found that the Black Hawk single him for strike pouches are perfect for holding our 30 rounders and all of this stuff is well-built! Take a look, what you think. Post some more stuff

The couple of times I've used my Mini in carbine classes (this is in CA afterall), I've used a couple of the KYTEX AR mag pouches. They work great for both my pre-ban 20 and 30 rounders on the belt. Big plus is they also work, of course, with my AR mags as well.

I'll try to find my camera tomorrow so I can post pictures (and of my mini finally.) My current setup is as follows:

- Woodland Chicom-Style Chest Carrier: (4x 40rd mags *2 per pouch*) 3rd mag pouch contains a "Blow Out Kit" (combat tourniquet, 6" "Izzy" bandage, pair gloves, chemlight, survival blanket and gauze.) 4 Support pouches not used when worn with vest.

- 1990s USGI Enhanced Tactical Load Bearing Vest (ETLBV): 4 integral mag pouches (6 30rd mags total,) 2 grenade pouches (one containing boresnake cleaning kit & compass, the other holds quickclot gauze and battle dressing.) Connected to a Pistol Belt which holds: 2 ALICE mag pouches (6 30rders total,) mag dump pouch, 1qt. Canteen w/ cup, CETME Bolo-Style Bayonet, E-Tool and IFAK. Instead of a Buttpack I use either the CFP-90 Woodland Patrol Pack or a Coyote Tan teardrop-style military daypack my buddy gave me after his second tour in Afghanistan; Both can carry my 3 liter Camelback.

That brings my mag carry total to: 12x 30rd, 4x 40rd and 1x 20rd in the Mini. My carry plan also includes a 30rd Pre-Ban USA in my left leg pocket as a kind of "last line" magazine, It feeds fine but doesn't hold the bolt open after the last round so Id prefer to use it only if I had to.

Hey guys, I think I have found something that I like even more than the Black Hawk's strike double mag pouch for holding one single 30 round mag, as I have mentioned before, I do not recommend stacking our still mags…… Within the month. I will obtain these and see if they hold the to my testing and and get back with you. But from everything that I've read about them, and seen, they look like they're going to be absolutely the perfect 30 round mag pouch. Here's a link

I run HSGI Taco's on an old GI pistol belt, for my 20rndrs with MagPuls. Also a Specter 2pt sling on the rifle.

I purchased one of these (pictured below) after reading KingANuthin posts although I did not find it under the name "UTG M1A Pouch". After some research I found it under "UTG Web Systems Double Mag Pouch PVC-M507E" I like it. Holds 4 x 20 rnd Mini 30 mags. A little tight but that's a good thing. It should break in just right. Specter Gear has been added to my bookmarks.
You'd need more of the singles to carry the same amount of mags as a "side-by-side" pouch, but they'd let you get "flatter" in the prone position.
