My mini14 does not have the 800 in the serial number. My number is 0-54xxx. What does that mean? first yr. or something like that? Am waiting on my book from ruger. thanks **** Dawg:rapid: :D

The 180-xx is the first series. I haven't heard of a serial # like yours. I'd call Ruger, and see what they say. It is a very uncommon serial #.

**** Dawg---The early (Very first) Mini's had serial numbers completely different than what we normally see. Like cajungeo says a call to the factory will confirm the date your Mini was built. I would be real interested to know if it has a roller engagemnt on the bolt or the regular little nub that engages the operating rod. Anyway a call to Ruger will give you whatever info you want.
