Well, I have my Mini at DRC getting the treatment. I also ordered the back issue of Guns & Weapons for LE where the DRC Mini-14 was reviewed. Although I didn't specify one, the article got me thinking about their forward mounted scope base (scout). I had intended on mounting a B-square or Eagle scope mount to the Mini as this would still allow me the use of the iron sights. Does anyone have any experience with DRC's scout mount? I would think that scout mounts in general would interfer with standard issued iron sights. Any thoughts.

Hey maddog. What were you planing on mounting on the rail? A regular scope only has 3 or 4 inches of eye relief. A red dot would work, or a scout scope, or pistol scope. That may help you decide.

maddoog7,
Let me start by saying I DON'T have a DRC mini. I do have the reviews (GWLE) from April 2000 and Jan 2003. These articles state forward scout mount can be mounted low (use iron sights with no optics ) or a little higher for see-thru. These articles show the mini with the eo-tech, c-more, red dot and scout scope.
If you would like to E mail me I may be able to scan or make copies.
