Going to look at a DPMS LR308 this week. I don't know much about them and am looking for advice and suggestions. What is a fair price for one in 95%+ condition?

Can't help you much on used prices, but I have seen them new from slightly below/above $1,000 to $1,500 depending on how they were set up with handguards, barrels, stocks, forward assist/slick side, etc. I have been pleased with mine, a 7.62 Nato Oracle, Model: RFLR-OC.

I would not mind having an AR-15 style rifle in 308, but they are too expensive for my taste.

You don't know what your missing by not having one, they are fun. But, I probably wouldn't have had one either but I saw this one and it was in the price range that I could live with, and I traded a couple rifles that I no longer had any interest in, so wasn't really out that much cash.

Mine has the dust cover and the forward assist, not sure that either were needed for my uses, but it had them and I wanted them on my rifle. The forward assist doesnt really work the same way on a .308 as it does on a 223/5.56. That said .223/5.56 is much cheper to plink with though.
