Is there a ".pdf" file showing the disassembly steps for the Ruger Mini-14? I need to get the serial number and it seems to be under the forearm. Also I can then do a good clean & lube. I've looked at the main Ruger web site and they don't even have a way to send an e-mail.

If you have a pdf, please send to [email protected].

Thanks. :2guns:

I have never seen an Adobe Acrobat file (.pdf) for the disassembly and reassembly of a mini14. The best way to get instructions is to call Ruger. You can even leave a message if they are not open, and they will send you an owners manual for FREE! Disassembly is very easy, but a little too much to type for you, and without pictures, and an exploded diagram of the mini14, instructions wouldn't do you much good. If all you want to do is take the stock off, take magazine out, make sure rifle is not loaded!, pull slide/bolt to full open and release, engage safety, using a punch or similar object pull trigger gaurd away from reciever, pull trigger group straight out, pull stock off. That's about as simple as it gets, but lacks the details so do it at your own risk.

:D I found a pointer to a Geocities site that had the instructions. I popped up the trigger gaurd, removed the trigger assembly, and pulled the barrel and reciever away from the whole stock. There was the serial number. Before removing, I could only see the last number of the complete serial number. Mine is the "Ranch" model with the fancy, raised "cheek" section on the stock.

Thanks for all suggestions! Happy New Year!:ar15:

Also, with the Ranch model, you will need to remove the bolt retainer (Behind the little door on the left side) in order to reinstall the bolt. The bolt can be taken OUT without removing the bolt stop, but you will need a miracle to get it back IN.
