The stock is a Choate painted grey/white/black trunk
paint. The rings are Millett Angle-Loc high nickel. The scope is a
Tasco world-class+ 6x24-44 [around 75.00 w/discounts].
Barrel is Shilen, brake is JPEnterprizes. Innards carry wolff
springs, shaved op-rod, lighten trigger, reduced gas bushing
polished bolt and inner action that has also been shimmed to
get it tight in the stock, ck-pc is Black Hawk. Mag is a USA for
effect...LOL. Bipod is Harris sandblasted and coated with flat
clear. Ammo is Black Hills v-max 55gr moly.

Hey bg's, I know I have comented on this before, but can't find the thread. Where did you get that muzzle brake, or is it a flash hider? If I remember you said it shoots really well.

Yup it's a muzzle brake from JP. It was first threaded on then
pinned and silver soldered over that. It shoots pretty sweet I
think. When it goes off the gases from ign hit the first chamber
and then the second and in actually pull the barrel forward a wee
bit{micro}. It helps me nail the targets. I will say it's louder
that stock...

Now when I say it pulls it you can't really tell. You have to have
someone shoot it while you watch the muzzle and then you'd see
what I'm talking about. Yea it's loud and you can see the muuzle
blast pretty good too. Thanks for the kind words...

I do like the muzzle brake, it looks like it would be very effective.

Why would a weapon with a muzzle brake be louder than one without?

They are considerably louder because they redirect the blast back toward the left and right of the shooter. It's not that bad if you are directly behind the shooter, but it can be harsh with larger cals if you are to the left or right of the shooter like the next shooting lane.

Thanks for the kind words. Yep one thing about it, you hear it and see it.
Out here in Ca there's a big deal about flash hiders. I can say without a doubt
you will see the flash from this gizmo. It's sorta loud on a 223. I can't
imagine what it would sound like on a large magnum...Yikes. ;)

JP has one that is a lot cleaner looking, but I don't think I'd get away with it
here in Ca. >
