For Sale, Danish Springfield Armory M1 Garand with a VAR barrel. Its receiver is S/N 2,481,XXX manufatured around Jan 1944.
The metal on this one is in fantastic shape, parkerized finish is 97%+. The stock has the typical Danish dings. The forward hand guard looks to be new and I think it is made of birch. The rear hand guard look original and is in good shape, neither have cracks. The main stock (probably beech) is in average condition and has numerous small dents and a couple shallow gouges.
The parts that I have inspected closely are "SA" marked. The VAR barrel looks almost new inside and out. It is stamped 10-66 for a manufacture date.
CMP tagged it with a -3 Throat erosion. This is a beautiful "Dane" with CMP papers that shoots like a dream.
