I was wanting to make a dedicated case for my AR10A4 flattop and have cut out places in the foam for all the different sighting devices, mags, and such. I've seen lots of cases with the foam cut around so the pieces fit in their own place. But,I've never seen one's for sale already cut out.So I assume you have to do it yourself.

After determining the required thickness of the foam in the bottom of the case, obtain two pieces of foam that will total that thickness. using a very sharp tool of your choice, cut the profile of the items to be cased. After test fitting and trimming, glue the two pieces together, and there, sir, you have it. :)

Check with your local craft shops. There is a tool out there that looks like a coping saw. Sort of a U shape. Strung between the two metal pieces is a very thin wire. The handle hold a battery and creates heat to the wire. The wire melts the foam as you pull it. Works very well with foam and very soft material. You can follow a line that you draw around your weapon and it looks like a professional cut. :p
