Hi guys Im new to the board and I am interested in buying a mini-14 . I want it accurat for a combo of defence/coyote hunting and was wondering if anyone had experiance with buying a complete rifle from Accuract Systems or am I better off buying stock and sending it out to have custom work done. I realize some things are worth waiting for but I saw a complet rifles on the site and figured I ask.

Welcome to the forum Sarg. I guess it depends on what you want, and if you are willing to pay the price. Their stainless ranch is $1150. I'm shure it is a fine shooter. at least 1 moa. ya still have to buy a scope. I just don't have that kind of money, so I bought a new SS mini ranch a year ago for $469. I put less than $100 in it. It shoots 1 1/2" (avg) at 100 yds, with factory loads, and near 1" with my reloads. So I'm good up to 300 yds, with my scope, and bipods. 1 shot 1 coyote. Now I'm looking at calls.

Most of the work can be done by anyone who can change the oil, or a sparkplug in their vehicle. It isn't that dificult.

Now for home defense, I wouldn't want their longer, heavier bull barrel. Just too heavy, and slow. My lite 18 1/2" carbine is better. My .357 mag is even quicker for home defense.

My mini is complete, and I can use it for hunting or defense. It works for me. :D
