You must use a punch designed for "roll pins" a standard punch will not work, as it flairs the end of the pin....while driving it out. This causes it to expand, much like a rivet. LTS

No, that won't work. You'll need dedicated roll pin punches.

You can try www.brownells.com and search under AR tools, or punches.

230-112-105 AR punch kit from Brownells. Listed at $19.02
"The ONLY way to properly install or remove roll pins without damage to either the pin or the surrounding metal. A small raised projection in the face of the punch automatically centers the punch and prevents the roll pin from collapsing. " - says the description.

230-100-004 1/8" punch only $3.83

But I suggest you get the kit..... not worth paying 4 bucks and then shipping for one item.

Actually..... go to an automotive store. Ask for a 1/8" roll pin punch.

If you look close, you'll see the 'raised' spot on the tip.
