A friend has a Charter Arms Bulldog in 44 Spl. The problem he's having is the shroud wants to rotate after shooting a few rounds. I don't know much about one except it's obviously not a target pistol. You're not going to shoot too far too accurately. BUT!!!! I would expect the parts to stay together. Any input?

I had one. Like you said, no target revolver. My chief complaint was that, if you "broke wind" while holding the revolver cocked, it would go off. LITERALLY. Made for some interesting moments. sold it to a guy, after fully explaining the "quirks" of operation.

No no no, you got the niche wrong with this one. Its a backup piece. I've had one for about 16-17 years now and I like it for what it is. True enough the ones with the shroud shoot loose and must be pinned in place by a gunsmith.

I apparently got one of the good models. Its a 2-1/2" bull barrel, no shroud. bobbed hammer, no snag ramp sight. I do not use it in SA mode, it is a defensive piece for spitting distance only, so DA only to be realistic. I do have to keep an eye on the pins at the range, they tend to walk out upon recoil (19 oz).

Its a gun to be carried much and shot little. For the price, its a decent little piece (MY model). I like it because it 'carries like a J frame, hits like an O frame.'

Its no target pistol.
