i have a 181 series mini 14, can i put a newer barrel on it without any major work being done to it? I just got a 181 and i think its barrel having pits were the gas block mounts on it is causing it to lose gas pressure causing it to work like a bolt action almost, the bolt will come back ,but not far enough to put a bullet in the chamber, i have already checked the gas bushing, block, pipe and barrel hole and everything is clear , this is the only thing i can think it would be, i cant afford to send it to accuracy systems and pay out loads of money, but i can find newer used barrels and gas blocks on ebay and it be in my budget, thnx for any info
