OK,I have a really stupid question.New to Mini's and just got a S/S ranch model.Took it apart to clean and(here is the stupid part)didn't notice which way the buffer guide rod goes back into the buffer.The way I understand the manual,the tongue portion of the rod goes under the buffer cross pin between the barrel and cross pin.I guess the slanted cut on the rod goes against the cross pin.Is that correct.Please help!!!!!!!I promise,no more stupid question's(maybe)....................wardog 911.

I bought a stainless ranch from pawnshop looked unfired
yeah I fired it several times several meaning over 100

took down to clean Hell the buffer cross pin ain't there
no ill efects
didn't harm a thing

When it is properly installed and you look at it from the side, the guide rod and spring will be parallel to the bore. If you do it wrong it is pretty obviously not parallel to the bore. :sniper:

Just caught the rest of your question, yes "the slanted cut on the rod goes against the cross pin."
