Well, I guess if Ol' George had used a Bushmaster we would still remember him.

God Bless!

That guy will be freed. It is a shame he has spent so long in jail already. The evidence shows self-defense. I'm a father myself, but the only reason this case has gone so far is due to Martin's parents. Every parent wants to believe their child was an angel.

I'm not saying Zimmerman is innocent, but the court system runs off of evidence. He'll go free.
The Bushmaster wasn't actually used. It was found in the trunk of his car. The media is just attacking "assault" rifles. Though improperly defined.

If you're speaking of Newtown, the coroner (or whatever they call them now... medical examiner?) stated all the wounds were caused by a "high-powered rifle".
I am certain that on the day of the Newtown shooting I saw a pic of a SWAT guy pulling an AR rifle from the trunk of a car. Good luck finding that pic now, it is long gone as far as I can tell.
Nothing but lies, deceit and propaganda from the media. I did see a live press conference where the coroner said the wounds were all from high power rifle rounds. Bad people do bad things guys. Andrew Zimmerman isn't one of them. He's a good guy who tutored neighborhood kids and walked a neighborhood watch beat. Don't let the story die.

. . . so that rules out an AR in 5.56mm.
I don't know enough about the Zimmersheid thing to really say much, but it has sounded like a racism spin to me from the start. Any death is tragic. Our media is getting so out of control. None of them have ever really had to cause a human death on purpose as many of us on this forum have. The media has less regard for human life than we do. to themk, your death is either agenda fodder or it isn't.

God Bless!

The racism cry went out loud and clear until somebody pointed out the Zimmerman is hispanic, LOL. After that, never heard it again. They turned to the "he was stalking him" excuse after that.

That always puzzled me. I live in south Florida, and nearly everyone I know is hispanic. Trust me, they can be racist too. Though probably not as racist as Al Sharpton or Spike Lee getting ready to lynch this guy just because he wasn't black.

minority on minority crime just doesnt brew up the outrage like a good old white/heterosexual/christian male on minority crime does. it has to meet the hate/blame ****** clause in their agenda to be efective.
I don't want to hijack your thread (which means I'm going to), but if you watch the video out there of the long gun discovered in the car in Conn. it appears to be a semi- auto shotgun. I May be wrong. I had heard the thing about the ar not being used in the shooting but subsequently heard the rifle was recovered in the school. I just want to avoid allegations that the "gun culture" is denying the truth. Ultimately the specifics are not what those that are using this tragedy are interested in. They are painting with a broad brush using fear. Regardless of the tool used (misused) it does not justify using legislation to gut a Constitutional right designed to insure the citizens can protect those rights.

Well, to anyone who knows anything about firearms, yes. But to the press, politicians, general public, and emotional knee-jerk progressive liberal gun-grabbers, NO.

I mean, for God sakes- the M1 Carbine (a .30 caliber PISTOL round, essentially) is still considered an "assault weapon" here in NJ and if you're caught with one it's a 5-year mandatory sentence.
