I'm curious to see what kind of groups with various accurizing mods people have gotten with 55gr xm193 ammo. Obviously different bullet weights and more precise loads will perform better with barrel lengths and harmonics, but this is the easiest and most affordable 'good' factory ammo for me to find locally, so I shoot it most often and would like to compare to others results, and see if there is room for improvement.

My rifle is a 581 ranch, decently tight wood stock, Choate handguard, rear Wilson buffer, and retorqued gas block. 1-3x glass. These are at 50yds and pretty much representative of average groups on xm193. xm855 is not allowed at my range, so that's out of the picture. Is this about as good as it gets? Off the same rest I can do ragged 1 hole groups with my 17hmr so I'm not that bad of a shot :)

Thats not bad, I'm taken it that those are 1" squares? That XM193 is 55 grain FMJ, my AR shoots about the same with that ammo, its a 1/7 and likes heavier bullets.
