Can anyone tell me where do you begin measuring the barrel at ... at the begining of the chamber or at the end where the bullet enters ? I don't want to cut mine shorter than 16" by mistake.

BigUgly---With the bolt closed the barrel is measured from the face of the bolt to the muzzle. Don't cut to exactly 16" leave a quarter to half an inch extra incase the muzzle needs to be recrowned in the future. This 16" includes any permanently installed flash hider or muzzlebrake. In my case I cut my barrel 14.5" & silver soldered on a flash suppressor which added 2" to the total giving me a 16.5" barrel.
