Auto Bolt Release, and Cleaning 10/22

Was looking at a pict of a bolt release for a 10/22 in a popular web sight and took my bolt lock out and used a dremel tool, a file might work and it looks like a hart grind the center of the humps of hart out and give it a slight arch not much and now you have a automatic bolt release might take a couple of tries  Now for cleaning strip receaver, find dead center on the back of the receaver and come up .790 and drill a hole 1/4 or bigger not to much bigger and wala now you can clean your 10/22 like a bolt rifle. The way I came up with the .790 was look down the barrel and scribe the inside of the receiver or purches the jig for $35.00 I think. Do this at YOUR OWNE RISK and be careful  This is my present to all of you Have a Merry Christmas:usa: Make the first shot count because if you dont it wasnt a good shot

Has anyone else noticed that you can now cock the rifle by banging the butt on the ground?
Maybe I ground too much off the top part of the radius? looks less than the pics.... Not a prob cos I like the idea, same as my mini less confusing :p

Just thought Id mention my findings in the spirit of the forum....

BTW... just finished bedding the stock (ATI druganov), used 2 teaspoons of acraglas, ended up with the odd smear that got pushed out, man was that a loose fit !! real tight now.
just about to try out the weed wacker line idea, but I thought Id post a pic of the bedding results first (only real mod so far to my 10/22 other than recoil buffer).

This is me free standing, with a bi pod sitting on a box at about 30 m. Cant guarantee the same POI but its close enough compared to the shotgun blast effect it used to do!

Yes everything is in metric..... get with the program :D

always wondered about doing the trigger.... The mini was already done, so i didnt get a chance to play with that....

Kitchen table gunsmithing or professional?

got me a full set of metric and imperial hammers:D
Weakened Recoil Spring !!!

swapped bits off my mates unmodified 10/22 one at a time until I found the bit that made the difference (other than the bolt release!)

I had the spring shortened when I first got it (5 years ago) cos it wouldnt always cycle subs, since seen a few hundred rounds and the springs a bit softer, doesnt put enough push against the bolt to prevent it moving backwards when I bang it against the ground, and Im not talking hard either..... couple of inchs or so off the ground, dropped under its own weight.... CLACK!
