Well at least I tried.

Took my 10/22 to the range to check out the Volquartsen verses stock hammer springs on my chrony, as some claim a higher velocity with the stock hammer springs.

Well I have the following excuses: The range is torn up, and was closed, talking with Jimmy (manager) he let me set up a makeshift range. 35 yds, Had to bend over, and shoot off of a powerline spool. I set up the target at 35 yds, and chrony. I fired 10 to get on target. Then fired 10 shots with the Volquartsen spring. was planning on pulling the trigger pins, and swaping out trigger groups, but the bedding prevented this, so I pulled out the stock spring, and installed into trigger group. Fired 10 shots with the stock spring. A shooten buddy came up, and we talked till almost dark, then I policed my brass, packed up, and came home.

I just got home, and checked my chrony. Sorry guys, I should a checked the chrony more than once as it only recorded 5 shots. I believe I didn't have it centered. I will try again tomorrow if it dosen't rain. I'm surprised at my groups standing, and being bent over that wooden spool. I did use my bench rest.

10 shot group at 35 yds. .394" center to center. :D

That's a great lookin group! I hope you don't show up at any of my matches:) If my new test works out and shrinks the groups a little, I'll let you know how I did it so you can give it a try if you feel like it.

By the way, I know the POA is a bit different between 35 yards and 125 yards, but did you get a noticeable difference in the POI?

With the thick cloud cover, and lateness getting to the range, it is too dark for the chrony to work properly. I will try again this week end. I will check the POI, Avg velocity, and std deviation, using Dynapoints, and the 2 hammer springs.
