Anyone use a roll pin for gas bushing?

I did the roll pin trick a while back. Best I can measure it came out at .046". The brass ejects at 6 to 8 feet now compared to 20. If you just want to tinker it's not hard to do and it will work, but as others have stated there are some good bushings out there to be had.
