Hi,
Has anyone seen the .223 that Kel Tec is making. I saw an ad in the new Law Enforcement Weapons issue. Went to there web site and I couldn't find it.
Also anyone heard about the .17 rim fire that Aguila Ammunition is supposed to make? It's on their web site and Shooting Times did a piece on it over a year ago, but I've seen nothing since. It's based on the .22 lomg rifle, so it would work in a regular 10-22 with a barrel swap.
I hate it when they advertise stuff and it's not even on the market.

JWB, go back to the Kel-tec site and click on "News". Then click on the SU-16 link. It show a picture and tells about it. It also has a link that says"More Pictures". This shows the technical schematics. They claim it uses the "proven M-16 lock-up" but the schematics look like the AK-47 to me. Probably felt association with the AK wouldn't go over as well.:2guns:

I hope it's easier to to field strip than the sub 2000 I have. The Sub 2000 has to be one of the hardest firearms there is to access the hammer, trigger, sear and reassemble bar none. It looks like their new rifle will be far better in this area. If dealers can peddle it for $425.00 it might sell anything more and people will go with an AR or AK.

You can convert a 10/22 mag to a .17 HMR, but not the 10/22. It then becomes a 10/17. check out this thread, and contained links. http://www.perfectunion.com/forums/showthr...=&threadid=3305

Yes, I've been on their website and their rifle looks pretty interesting. I live in Canada and emailed them about if they would export but havent heard anything back yet. One thing I am wondering is what "category" the su-16 would fall under with respects to Canadian law. If its the same as the mini (unrestricted) than i would be totally interested. Our "restricted weapons"(ie handguns, semi-auto assault's) can only be fired at a liscenced range. The SU-16 would probably be alot more accurate from factory than the mini(have one) and I already have a wack of magazines for the M-16/AR-15 from my military days.

Hi Cajungeo,
Yea, I know you can't use the 17 hornady round in a 10-22. The 17 Aguela (Sp) is not the same round. it's a 22 long rifle necked down to 17 caliber. They list it on there web site under whats new, but I haven't seen anything saying it's been shipped yet or any write ups on it since that one Shooting Times did on it quite a while back. the 2003 Gun Digest did have a little blurb on it in the new ammo section.

MSRP on the website is $640.

Looks like a cool gun... but with all those things folding in and out, I'd be worried about it turning into a rattle-trap in notime.

At that price, I'd spend the extra hundred bucks and get an AR-15.
