First let me say hello to everyone.

:)

I found this excellent forum via AR15.com.

I have a pre-ban Mini-14 Ranch with a folding stock (Butler Creek) and I need some advice on modifying it alittle.

I already order the Ultimak mount (Thanks djskit for the pics of your awesome rig). I also want to shorten the barrel to 16" or 16.5" (Thanks hadaway for your great looking rifle pics too) and maybe turn all stainless steel black with TuffKote.

I need help on where to buy TuffKote and how to apply it. I also need to know who can cut the barrel to the length but still allow me to either install different flash suppressors or pick which one to permanently attach. I currently have one similar to the standard A2 on a M16.

Thanks in advance!

:)

the post ban gun can have TWO of the evil features, but not all 3, its the way the rules are written up. i have a detachable magazine and a flash hider so therefore i cannot have a pistol grip stock. but i am still legal since i dont have a pistol grip stock. ithe 5 round magazine that comes with our minis is a result of bill ruger negotiating with the lawmakers, he didnt want his mini-14 being classed as an assault rifle.

Bush has said he will sign the bill to restore it.

I don't have any evil on my mini except the capacity to accept hi-caps. I'd put another one on, but I don't want a pistol grip hanging down there catching on the brush, or a flashhider. Maybe a red lens varmint light?

Right. If we are ever going to get anything really useful done for gun owners in this post 9/11 time of increased need for homeland security that bill better not get out of committee.

Republicans have the White House and both house of congress its put up or shut up time for them.

I really hope Mr Delay will not allow it out of the House. I just want to throw out my two cents and strongly urge every last member of this board (over 18, sorry arrowbullet) to contact your Congressman about this issue. Our government is not a democracy, it is a representative republic. The ladies, gentlemen, fools, thieves, and scoundrels we've sent to Washington are there on our behalf and it is solely our responsibility to make our voices heard on matters that affect us. Please let your representative know that the passing of the ban was a mistake in the first place. Then remind them that we are watching and there are consequences, ie, the backlash at the polls in the '94 elections that gave the R's the strongest position they've ever enjoyed in the House. If they need more evidence, ask them why Al Gore lost Tennesee. Remember, they work for us, not the other way around. Conservatives tend to be less active and vocal than our komrades to the left and it shows. Our country was created in large part to protect the soapbox (like the one I'm on now.:D ) We do so with the ballot box, and in the direst of times, the magazine box. Of the three the ballot box is still the most powerful, no matter what you hear.
