I haven't tried it, but that it something I have thought about trying myself.
I have used an Aimpoint in a 'conventional' mount on different rifles and that works fine. My guess is that an Aimpoint in standard Ruger 300m rings will be a better option than using all kinds of rails and tsuff to convert to a picatinny rail, and then picatinny-rings to mount the sight in. I feel that fewer parts is better :)

I would think that the only problem might be powder fouling on the lenses from the shortness of the optic. The aimpoint will shurly hold up to the heat and shells hitting it.
