are the after market synthetic stock a good option if i dont want to glass bed my old model mini 14? Im talking houge or ramline, pachmyre something like that. do these have reinforcements in them or just plastic?
Don't go the Hogue route if you're not interested in bedding. I've got one, it's really loose without a bed job. I have yet to get that done BTW so I can't comment on how difficult it is.
I have a Hogue. It shot about like the std Ruger wood stock. It dosn't use the stock reignforcement bracket. I bedded it now it fits tight. It isn't plastic, but a fiberglass stock coated with rubber pistol grip material. I really like it. I have heard the Ramline stock fits tighter, but have no personal experience with them.
