It's time to start writing your elected officials Illinois gunowners. Chicago Mayor Dayley is proposing 11 new measures to the legislature, at least 10 of which will further erode our legal gunowner activities.
Included are closing gunshow "loopholes," ballistic fingerprinting, 10 v 3 day waiting periods, banning high-cap magazines and semi-auto "assault rifles," state licensing of dealers, and ANNUAL state police background checks for FOID cards to include a $25 yearly renewal requirement.
Checkout firearmnews.com for media reporting on the issue. The NRA ILA site has some excellent tools for debunking the proposals and suggestions for contacting your legislators. Whatever you do, maintain your poise, be polite, and use logic.

So the question is, how many IL residents will contact their reps? Apathy is deadly.

btw: don't call them 'high' capacity magazines. What we have now (10rds.) are proprly called 'reduced' capacity magazines. 20-30 round magazines are 'standard' or 'full' capacity. I've started changeing my terminology on that and you'd be amazed how many people see the light when you explain the difference.

Oh No!!
Sounds like the same thing that happened in our state. Bummer dude!
Hay all you IL, help out and stop all this so you won't end up like Kalifornia.
We had a politician in Okland try to pass legislation to charge a tax per bullet. Like 5 cents.
Some how we shot that crap down.
If Kalifornia can stop theese pitiful little laws from being passed, you guys in IL can stop them.

Good Luck
Mike
