Howdy duty, hope you all are well and plan on shooting more this year, practice makes expert rifleman. Has anyone own or used the new AC4 pneumatic recoil buffer ? It replaces your entire buffer and buffer spring assembly in A1 or A2 stocks only at this time. You can check it out here http://www.olyarms.com/usa.html interesting. Singleside out there some where.:usa: :ar15: :ar15:

pneumatic recoil buffer
Oh Ya :D

Purchased one for my olympic pcr-16 (they will fit any AR-15 full stock weapon).
First........disavange......makes the recharging of the charging handle a little harder.

Advanages.......WOW......what a piece of equipment. When I went to the range with the pneumatic recoil buffer installed was not sure what to expect. The weapon acts just like a bolt action rifle. You DO NOT feel or hear (that awful twang is gone) the bolt coming back. You just hear and feel on click and a new round has been chambered. The weapon has at least half or maybe more of the felt recoil of the bolt coming back. There is no oil to worry about and the pneumatic recoil buffer has a small adjusting screw that can even add 4 more pounds of pressure to open and close the bolt. Believe me you do not need to adjust it anymore than it comes from the factory. You still have the full semi-auto action of the weapon, but as I stated the easy and felt recoil is like a bolt action weapon. They say that the pneumatic recoil buffer also slows down the rate of a full auto action weapon. Well, in a semi-action rifle you can not tell the difference. This is one purchase that I made for my AR that was totally worth the $129.00. I give it a rating of 5 thumbs up. (making 5 thumbs up......the very highest rating) :) :p :D

Thanks Coyote, the charging handle pull would be no problem as there is a latch that fits to give a better grip when using an a3 optic system. But how ever just to ease in operation of a better recoil buffer makes it worth the cost. ALL good reports on this new product and I have already ordered one. The spring is out of here. Next change better sling waiting for order to arrive. Thanks again and good report. Singleside out there you know sort of blending in. Its all about freedom, and there is less and less of it everyday. Does anyone know if they have them for AR10's?

Just one question for you folks who use the pneumatic recoil buffers for your AR-15s - Since you claim that the pneumatic buffers are stiffer and harder to cock than the standard spring buffer assemblies, have you noticed any additional wear and tear on the bolt and/or bolt carrier from using these components?

Just curious

I had not noticed any wear at all. I suspect its the same as the spring - except it closes the bolt harder. Would suspect that there may be a little wear at the bolt face - but this would take a lot of shooting and I mean allot to show it.

Sad to say as of this date I am out of the AR game. Weapon - pneumatic buffer and all the accessories that went with it are gone. Had a very silly accident with this weapon - 1/2 hour later it was sold with all the trimmings. :(
Never - never become complacent with your weapons.

Well could not stand it....Bushmaster Camo carbine on its way. Pneumatic buffer also - dang - ya have it - get rid of it - and then buy it back again.

*SIGH*

I finally got to test out my AR15 after I put in the pneumatic recoil buffer and I got to thank those who recommended it. I will not miss that TWANGGG with each shot and it felt a lot more solid. I only got to shoot 3 mags threw her because i was sighting in the new scope on my M14 but it was a pleasure to shoot the twangless AR.
Thanks again to all for recommending it.

As far as the AC4 Pneumatic Recoil Buffer:

All I can recommend is "Just do it".

I have one in my Bushmaster XM15-E2S now, and it's enough of a difference to make me scratch my noggin as to why Bushmaster doesn't have it as an OEM device. (none have it that I know of)
I've fired around a hundred rounds over the last year, and I didn't realize the "sproingggg" after each shot could be heard. I finally got around to inserting a AC4 and immediately noticed the recoil reduction and spring noise was gone.
OLYARMS has it for $80 + shipping.
I have put another sixty through the Bushmaster since, and I am enjoying it.
I have not noticed any undo wear either.

How about an update on the OLYARMS Site??? that link is no longer any good...

Anyone else got these?!?!?

Look in the "sticky" area, there's a page of links to all sorts of different manfacturers.

I just ordered in several of the adjustable AC4s to try out. I have yet to use them but several of my WSSM customers have said they work great with the high-power uppers.
