Stumbled across a video on youtube. I've seen videos where people try and cut the whole top off, and there is no reason to do that. This guy just does enough to bend it back. IDK, thought it was a good idea and would share.

i use a large putty knife and a hammer. that way i slice threw close to the edge without sharp metal.
