Has anyone tried 150 grain 7.62x39mm ammo in their Mini 30? Wolf Ammo has a 154 grain softpoint round. Corbon has a 150 grain softpoint round, American made with a brass case. How accurate can shooting heavier rounds be in the Mini 30? I'm sure with 150 grain softpoint bullets, the 7.62x39 round is almost up to par with the famous 30-30 round. It would probably be anyone's best bet for deer hunting. Has anyone ever hunted with 150 grain ammo with a Mini 30? Also, how well would the Mini 30's 1 turn in 10" twist rifling stabilize the heavier bullet?

Corbon also makes a self-defense load in 7.62x39. It's a 123 grain hollow point, the only American made hollow point made with brass and boxer primers.

Can't wait to try these rounds on watermelons and pumpkins!

The only problem with these rounds is the price of them. It's not more bang for your buck.
