Has anyone here converted a mini-14 to 300 AAC Blackout? I would like to but just don't know where to start.

Has anyone here converted a mini-14 to 300 AAC Blackout? I would like to but just don't know where to start.

From my understanding 300 blackout uses standard 556 mags in an AR rifle so a normal '14 mag might work? other that that maybe just a rebarrel...?

ASI lists a 300 AAC Blackout re-barrel, guaranteed 1.50 MOA (or better...) for $729.99.

Don't know if it's worth that to you, maybe you can find a gunsmith who'll custom-build you a barrel...

Pardon my ignorance, but what does ASI stand for? I tried to search for it, but all I get are non-gun sites.
