i have been a reloader for many yrs ,but i am new to reloading the 30/30 just looking for information on powders brass and heads, its for deer and pigs i was looking at speer 170 grn heads and may be h4895 , buying some hornady 160 grn flex tip to try then reload, anything of help most welcome atvb steve

What type of rifle are you using? This can make a differrence in 30/30 loads. I have had good luck with Winchester brass, WLR primers and Varget powder. I load 150 GN Sierra FP's. My experience has been to make sure you have a good crimp, consistant trim length and load to the velocity the rifle likes best. 30/30 brass is a little fragile to hot loads will shorten brass life a lot.

I loaded H4895 in my 30/30 for some years before I traded it. Just a note, you need to put a slight crimp on them because of the tube feed.
