Lets post some pics of 1911s.

Ever since I shot a 1911 back around 1984, I knew I wanted to own one. Like a lot of things in life, its one of those things that got neglected.

For my birthday my wife surprised me with a Remington 1911 R1.

Here are the pictures of my Remington 1911.

I recently purchased a Sig 1911 ultra .45 for my carry piece. This is my first 1911. It feels great on recoil and balance.I put about fifty rounds through it of 230 gr. feild rounds no problem.I did have the slide lock engage while empting a clip of hydro shock hollow points. No jam just lock came up. Just wondering if anybody else has seen this with 1911's. Any adjustments out there?

My Para CCW LDA 3 inch barrel double action only custom carry gun it shoots about an inch at 25 and feeds empty cases by the full clip. The mag well is cut down to grip width and all of the edges are broken with a little bling on the hood. She be a seven shot 45 ACP that will feed the 45 Auto Rim 252 gr SWC Cast bullet. I am waiting for the bone grips to arrive.

Kimber Custom Target

This is my only 1911. It's a first year Kimber Custom Target (extremely low serial number). It was accurized by Ton Kidd and fitted with a hand lapped barrel bushing. Tested 1.5" at 25 yards. Over the years it's been modified a lot:

Hard Chrome finish (that's not stainless)
Throated Chamber
Polished feed ramp
Ultralite magnesium/titanium trigger assembly
Oversized Mag Well
Tungsten Guide Rod
Shimmed rear sight
Wolff Springs
Wilson Combat Bulletproof extractor

This is my first 1911 and I like it. Taurus PT1911 SS with rail. Just over $600 new at Budsgunshop.com. I call her Eleanore and it is love at first fondle so be gentle, I know she's no Wilson Combat, or even a Kimber, but she is MINE, all MINE! (I did get her some Wilson Combat magazines though).

Not fancy. Bought it used in 1973 and been to a lot of matches with it including All Army. I can't shoot the way I used to but it still usually hits what I am shooting at no matter if it's at 15 yards or 100 yards.

Wow, oldgrump I bet that 1911 could tell some stories. Almost as old as I am. I like it!
heres my 1916 prod date colt thats all original & not rearsenalled like many out there were. shoots like a dream to be almost 100 yrs old. its just as reliable & accurate as my newer 1911s, although only gets shot on special occasions.

Here's mine

Yes, it's a Taurus PT1911 .45 and I understand there are plenty of haters out there. I got this because I didn't want too and couldn't afford too spent big bucks for a bigger name pistol. This sucker is very accurate and goes bang whenever I pull the trigger which is what I want. This is also my everyday carry.

I was a Navy Corpsman attached with the Marines Corps. I had these grips custom made for me. The left grip has the Navy emblem and the right has the Marine Corps emblem.

DocA, your 1911 is sweet! Let the haters hate. If it works for you, then that is all that matters. I love my Taurus PT1911. Thanks for your service.

Regent R200S .45 ACP SS

Bought this used , yesterday , At Cabelas . Have not fired it yet . Just field stripped it and lubed it . It did not need cleaning . Looks to have had very few rounds down the tube ?

Made in turkey , but looks OK .

God bless

Took delivery on this this afternoon. Its a Remington 1911 R1S. I've not shot it yet but it sure is pretty. I can no fault with the fit and finish. Its traditional although stainless. Made in USA. Those made in the Philippines, Turkey and Brazil may be flawless, shoot well and good looking but the 1911 is an American pistol. Snapping the trigger letting the hammer hitting my finger it seems light, crisp and short.

I'll be proud every time I look at this thing

Excuse the bad pic. as the sun was setting my battery went dead. This is the only one I got

Looks great ! :)

I can see the front sight , but not the rear sight ? What does it look like ?

Mine is a 3 dot setup , but the rear is not adjustable .

I too would have rather have a gun Made in the USA . But could not talk myself into dropping that much change . I did not need another gun , just wanted one .

I really like stainless steel for a gun . Carried a SS Ruger Security Six , years ago , when I was a security guard . Hard to beat it if you are going to be out in the weather .

God bless
