The only experience with Fobus was with a CZ pistol I could barely get the pistol out with two hands. Trashed it and bought a better holster. Get what you pay for if left in a hot car will change shape cannot prove or disprove this. Just my 2 cents. For my 1911's I have Garrets, a King Tuk , and Comp Tac, I have ordered a Wright Leather that is IWB or OWB either way looks nice good review. Holsters are like 1911's the just keep breeding more!

I love Fobus Holsters, have never had a problem with them. Sometimes the retention can be a little strong; in that case i take a file and in the trigger guard area there is a large dimple on each half of the holster that retains the pistol by holding on to the trigger guard, I file these down slightly until I get the retention I want. They used to come packaged with a few small round soft sided adhesive Velcro circles; not sure if they still do that, but these are to be used inside the holster along where the slide would travel and rest in the holster, giving less wear. if they don't come with them anymore I would highly recommend buying some. I live in Phoenix, Arizona, needless to say the summers are extremely hot here. I often leave my Fobus holsters in my vehicle in the summer heat and have never had them distort in the slightest. They were developed in Israel for military applications and are made of high density polymer that is very strong. They are definitely without a doubt my go to holster. Other than Fobus I use Alien Gear Holsters; their new cloak tuck 3.0 is the best and most comfortable for CCW in my opinion.

They're essentially junk. You spent a decent chunk of money for a 1911, get a good holster.

I use an El Paso Saddlery 1911 holster from Midway. As I recall they were on sale for about $50. Good holster but without the 3rd belt slot for cross draw.

Bought a new "Fobus" (from China. Yes, holster marked "Forbus" and the package is too) for $5 off e-bay. I thought it would be junk and may be useful to give to idiots who always borrow stuff, tear it up and then return it, but was pretty well surprised (obviously there IS a first time for everything!) at the quality and comfort, ease of use and it hasn't broken or melted yet. Possibly these are like the "Leopold" scopes that came out of China (that broke right off and people were returning to Leopold to get fixed, and told if they wanted a REAL Leopold it cost more than $29.95 and were NOT made in China!) but so far I got to say I am impressed with it. Same with the mag pouches, can not bitch (see I told you there was a first time for everything) and the price was right. Whether these are "real" Fobus holsters and mag pouches or not, they work great and I am happy.
