I see that Wolf is making these rounds (or maybe always have been and I just never noticed). Any of you have experience with this ammo? If so, how does it shoot vs. the basic 122 thru 124 grain round I'm used to seeing? I tried a search on this but it didin't bring anything up - was there a thread on here before you can refer me to? Does anyone else make a 154 in brass casing?

hey am I getting the silent treatment here? I couldn't have stumped you guys - certainly not cajun-G. Guess I'll buy a box or 10 and report back. could the mini be a long barreler with this round? we'll have a full report at 11.

well I guess I'll just answer my own post then - but not completely. After getting on an SKS forum it appears the 154gr 7.62x39 SP adds some punch and may be a little more accurate for that gun (than the 120+ gr). The claim was that it could take down large deer at 100 yds. That works. If any of you know how that might carry over to a mini-30 that'll be a good start. I just ordered a few boxes and will report back to the crew. Till then......

Were not ignoring ya SP. :p

I was waiting on some of the mini-30 guys to answer. I guess you will be the pioneer to test this ammo. I did do some searches, but couldn't find anything on it. Good luck on your test. ;)

I have very limited experience with the Wolf 154 gr SP. I was actually
testing ProMag 10 rd mags with different ammo. It fed just fine.

I'm hoping to find some more so that I can test it along with the wolf HP,
and some Brown Bear SP that I picked up at the gun show as I go through
accurizing steps. If I find some (none at the gun show and Cheaper Than Dirt
is out) I will let you know the outcome.

This is a link to a previous discuss about it.

Hey Special,
I reload my mini-30 with 150 grain bullets. I had better accuracy results from these longer bullets. I would guess the longer bullet stabilizes a little better but I am not a ballistician.

Good shooting
