The red dot sight is a Leupold/Gilmore LG-1, 2MOA (I think they stopped making 'em, but you can find 'em on ebay or gunbroker)- I just got the Power Custom Weaver mount this week so I haven't even had a chance to shoot with it yet and the weather is CRAPPY this weekend so far. :(

I'll let you know how it goes - I think it'll be great for ripping up cans!

I'm going to be putting on a WFMBS 22" Green Mountain Sporter barrel and a REAL scope for Smallbore Silhoutte Competition.

Thanks for the pictures Beta. I will post mine when I get the stocks finished. I hate sanding :( If we get enough interests I will ask Bill our administrator for a gallery like the mini-14 has.:D

Here's my 10/22 with 22" Sporter Barrel, Hogue Stock (I'm thinking of replacing that and getting a laminated thumbhole stock) and Simmons 1022T Scope for Silhouette Shooting (I take the bipod off - it's a Caldwell and I don't use it much):

Hey Beta, The thumb hole looks like my Fajun sporter stock. I really like it. I finished it my self. It took a while as I don't like sanding, and had to be in the mood, but it looks good now.

Glad to hear that, the Hogue just doesn't fit me well. I also think the thumbhole stock will be a little better for silhouette.

I've only been able to find finished ones - they go for around 150 bucks!

I got mine on sale from midway for $87, it took a bit of sanding, the inleting, and exterrior. I've heard the boyds need less sanding, but the Fajun has a better look when finished.

I also have a Fajun silhouette thumbhole. It fits different than the sporter with a larger palmswell, and more verticle grip, also the stock is taller. Will be shooting it soon, to see the diff between the two. The sporter fits the benchrest better than the silhouette.

Since my rifle has a factory contour barrel, I decided to order up the Ross Thumbhole Sporter from Boyd's:

http://www.boydboys.com/BrowseEbus/ROSSall.asp

They don't offer one unfinished in FBC, but the finished is only 130 bucks, and I hate sanding/finishing!

Hope to have it here in a couple weeks, I'll post new picts when it arrives.

That looks sharp!! Very nice! Have you shot it yet, or are you gonna do the whole free floating and bedding and so on first?

Thanks, I shot it about 45 minutes after UPS dropped it off - it takes me 30 minutes to get to the range!

It shoots as good as it looks, and it's much easier for off-hand shooting than the old Hogue.

Here's a target I shot at 50 yards with DynaPoints (from my bags), the bulls are 1.25 inches:

I'll be doing the bedding and free floating the barrel later, I have to order up some stuff.

Nice looken 10/22 beta. The stock looks like my Fajen Sporter.
I'm pretty sure the Boyds' and Fajen are the same stocks. Fajen is just a brand-name that Midway uses for stuff they resell!

Kinda like the Adams and Bennett barrels that are made (supposedly) by Green Mountain ;)

Fajen has made stocks for over 50 years. They started in Warsaw Mo. which is now the town at the Dam of the Truman Reservior. They are large now, and sell a lot of wholesale to places like midway. You can no longer buy direct from Fajen. http://www.battenfeldtechnologies.com/fajen/

Boyd's is a different company. Some of the stocks are very similar. Who copied the other ? Not important as long as it looks good. It also gives a more competitive price. http://www.boydboys.com/default.htm

But, at that Fajen site:

"Fajen® stocks are now produced in several state-of-the-art plants around the United States."

I still think Boyds' produces some stocks for them. Battenfeld Technologies, Inc. is an umbrella company that is run by the MidwayUSA folks for various products like Fajen, Caldwell, Adams and Bennet, etc.

Here's a better picture of mine:
