I ordered some masen 30 rounders from franks center. I got a total of [email protected] bucks a piece. When they arrived yesterday, I loaded each mag with 15-30 rounds of ammo, inserted them in the magwell and manually cycled the ammo to see if they fed . 8 of them fed alright. the other 4 didn't feed worth a s***. on those 4 it appears that the mag catch was either welded too high or slightly to the left. the mag was either too low for the bolt to catch or to high to allow the bolt to grab the cartriges and slide them into the chamber. Fortunately franks center has a good return /exchange policy and is replacing the four. Most of the other 8 that feed well are more difficult to lock into place than my
factory 5 rounder , my promag , and eagle 10 rounders. They had some play in them too. Has anyone had similar experiences with these mags?

I don't have a personal experience but I've heard this same thing before.

This guy couldn't exchange them and sent them back to Masen and as far as I know they fixed them.

Kind of scared me off. I've got enough problems...<G>

Vincep did you check out Mike in Oregons thread on page 4 or 5 in this section on the variances in mag latches on Mini 14's? Part of the problem might be in your latch in your trigger group. If you've owned or been around enough Mini's you'll find out a magazine that work's well in one might not fit or work in another. There are differences in the latches. Do a search and read his post it may help.
