I had an early wood handguard I out on a 183 series Mini. Would a wood handguard with the "C" spring clip on the underside (not 180 series type with little clips for lateral grooves in the barrel) fit on a 583 series with the stepped barrel? I really like the wood. Very M1 carbine-ish!

I just bought a 1976 180 series "Liberty Gun" it's missing the original style flat metal front sling swivel with the pin. Anyone got one? Sure would be nice to make this vintage Mini-14 complete. Thanks, Mike

Hey all, I visited a small gun shop near where I live yesterday and found a 180 series mini 14. What caught my eye was the rear and front sights were like I had never seen before. Upon close inspection the serial number was somthing like 180-00723. I must have looked at a hundred pictures...
  9. Ruger Mini-14 and Mini-30
I came across an excellent, low rd count 180 yesterday at a show. Had seen picks of the early bolt HO, but didn't recall ever seeing it in bought it. I remembered from years ago, when into mini's more than I am now, all the warnings of "avoid the early series", "no parts to be...
