Hi There, in this time of sparse ammo and rifles, i wanted to activate my guide gun in 450m. No brass around, no problem, i still got Dome 80 rounds in the safe, the manufacturer you will guess. OK, they are near 20 years, the ones i had in the woods are tarnished, but else look good. So to the...

A couple of months ago I found a Marlin 336 that had been made in 1976 at a local gun store. The sights are pretty much useless in low light. So I thought about replacing them with something a little more modern. The question I keep asking myself, should I mess with a rifle that was made in...

How is the quality of the newer marlin 336 compared to the older rifles? A local pawn shop had an older Marlin 336 in stock. Serial put it at a 1976 production. In all honesty, I have no experience with new Marlin 336 lever action rifles. My son has one that was bought for him around 2002...

With Promag making a 25 round magazine for the Marlin 795, I am seriously considering buying one of each - the magazine and the rifle. Parts of this article have been republished with permission. Read the full article - 25-round Magazine for the Marlin 795 Marlin has a reputation of...

Hey everyone, it has been a long time since I posted on here, but I figured I would drop in and do a quick review of my newest rifle. I bought this rifle a few weeks back, but finally got the chance to take it out shooting a couple days ago. It is a Remlin, and after reading about the quality...

hey, i have a few questions and any help would be appreciated. i know this is a dumb question, but how do you adjust windage on a marlin 336? the manual says "gently tap the dovetail portion in the direction you want to move POI" basically. well, first of all, i'm not sure which part is the...

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any suggestions or information! I have a Marlin 336W and was thinking of stocking up on spares, lest it ever be pressed into service as a reserve SHTF piece. So, anyway what spares should I order up? Firing pin, extractor, ejector? Which springs/screws...

This is a copy of a thread I started on SurvivalistBoards.com about the modifications I made to my 336.... I will be adding the rest of the pictures and info over the next few weeks. First a little info on the rifle. It's a Marlin 336W in 30.30 that I bought in 02' I have made several...

I want to sing the praises of the Marlin 795. It is a semi-auto .22 LR that can be purchased for about $140, and that doesn't include the $25 rebate from Marlin. It is very accurate and reliable. It comes with sling studs installed, and the bolt locks open on the last shot. It's a great...

My sons Marlin 336 30-30 started having some problems this weekend - the action is easy for a couple of cycles, and then its really hard. The action is so hard to work, that it feels like something is going to break. We were shooting factory loaded Remington 150 grain core-lokt. The first 2...

Open question to any of you who own Marlin Camp Carbines. If something happened to your Carbine, would you replace it with the same model, get a different caliber, or get some other make of semi-auto Carbine? I presently have a couple of Mini-14s and a Hi Point 9mm carbine. The Hi Point 955...

It was the last weekend of regular deer season, saturday night. A long time member of the deer lease drives up to the camp, and backs his truck up to the scales. That is usually a sure sign that there is a deer in the back of the truck. They get the doe weighed and are stringing it up to skin...

I have always hated the trigger on my Marlin 336. I saw a replacement trigger by Wild West Guns at Brownells. It's $90. Anyone had any experience with this item?

Went to the range today to do some shooting, bbrrrrr....mighty cold and rainy. Well after sending some rounds down range I was waiting for the range to go "cold" (mighty ironic) I perused the board for what people were selling and there it was, a Marlin Camp 9 w/ several mags for $250. Haven't...

Shot my new Marlin 1894C lever action carbine for the first time today, Nice gun. Unfortunatley it was shooting about three inches high and three inches to the right at 75 yards. At least my grouping was consistent. Looking at the iron sights I do not see a way to adjust the sights or...

I recently looked at a Marlin Model 795 rifle in .22LR caliber. Looks like a fairly nice rifle for the money, about $110.00 at my local Scheels after a mail in rebate. Looks like something my girlfriend and myself could shoot all day without spending alot of money on ammunition. Rifle is blued...

Recently bought a 336 in 30-30. I made a mistake when reassembling it, I pushed the bolt all the way forward, not leaving the 1" the manual states. Problem is, the bolt seams to be locked forward. How do you free the bolt, so I can side it back an inch and re-attach the lever. Thanks.
