581 series

I cant find the answer to this anywhere.... I have a ruger mini 30 stainless with a 189- serial number made in 1991. I am trying to ascertain the differences between this and the 580/581 minis. If i order a walnut stock i find online, will it fit all minis? What about the vented hand gaurd...

First post here! I recently purchased a 581 tactical mini from a co-worker for $300. It is in great condition and looks to be a 2010 model from the serial. It came with the ATI style folding stock and a hideous bullpup stock that I sold on eBay for $100. So I guess I only have $200 in the gun...

My brother just got a new mini from CDNN. The serial number starts with 580. My neighbor bought a new mini a month befor that with a serial number that starts with 581. Excuse my ignorance, but does the 580 indicate an older model, and if it does what is the difference?:unsure::unsure:

are there any design changes between the two series runs? i just got a 580-87XXX tactical model. it has the tapered heavy barrel, flash hider and new type rear adjustable sight. according to the label on the box it was manufactured in october of 2009, if that makes any difference. thanks.
