I've been having fun shooting my Mini 14 (185 series), which has a triangle-shaped single post sight.
Only problem is - the bluing is worn away on the top of the sight, and I've been having a hard time acquiring the front sight.
Is there a cheap way for me to darken...

1) What kind of new peep sight should I buy, and do I need to have a gunsmith install it...
New to the sight, Its been close to 28 yrs so cut me some slack....:D This is what I just found , ( Ruger Mini-14 GB rifle # 185 - ) What bayonet will fit the lug ? Can't seem to find one through Ruger...:wacko: ANY HELP ?
I need the Catch-Stub NUT part# MA15000 that fits the Catch-Stub threaded bolt #MA14900 that passes completely through the wooden stock from the right side to the left forward of the magazine-well portion of the stock.
It's NOT available from Ruger or other common sources.
My mini is an older 185 series and has a 1 in 10" twist.By handloading,i have found a decent load with 55 gr. bullets.I haven't yet tried any lighter bullets.My question is,has anyone tried 50 gr. bullets in a 1 in 10" mini?Better or worse than 55 gr? Guess that's 2 questions.::unsure:
