My first official post! Anyway, I recently purchased a new 10/22 Takedown (Mod#11112). 16.6in threaded barrel. I love it. Put about 500 rds through her so far, and only had a few stovepipes.
I'm not interested in throwing a ton of money at the thing. I'll get a proper 10/22 one day...

I just got this rifle a week or two ago, it's the first gun I've gotten where I want to put optics on it, and as such, I'm totally clueless.
Can anyone make some recommendations for a reflex red dot sight to put on this thing? I plan on getting a quad rail for it for mounting.
I have been reading up on the 10/22 and have been amazed at the availablility of parts and 3rd party rifles that are essentially a 10/22 (VQ, etc...) The Mini-14 does not get this availability hence the posts on spare firing pins, bolts, etc..
For those more knowledgable, why are 10/22...
Ruger 10/22 with Fajen Legacy stock, Volquartsen extended bolt handle, Christie's extended mag release, Clark Custom trigger kit and auto bolt release, Buffer Technologies recoil buffer, and BSA red dot sight.
Next step will probably be a Green Mountain .920" fluted barrel. And I'm thinking...
I'm hoping you guys can help me find what I need - taller iron sights for my 10/22. Front and rear. I need them to press into the barrel right where the stock ones do. Front and rear.
The problem is that raised scope mounts (both kinds - rail mount and direct mount) obscure my iron sights...
This is my way of simulating an AR for 22lr, great for cheap plinking and it turns a few heads at the range. Not many AR guys in our club.
Has the bolt release modded, trigger polished up a bit, wolff springs, and a tuffer buffer. Stock is a tapco with side rails added, and the scope...
My humble Ruger 10/22 Deluxe. My first firearm I bought in 1979 as a teenager. A 119 series I picked up for $77 out-the-door at a Two-Guys department store (kind of like an old Kmart type place) in Goleta, California.

I have a stock full camo 10/22 i just got recently. I have done some researching and have decided I really want the Tapco T6 stock in OD Green. But i have many questions. And have decided to ask the experts.
1. Is it reliable and sturdy?
2. should I get the heavy barrel version and invest in a...
Hey there fellas, I am currently in the market for a 10/22 and have so many questions so instead of making many threads I will ask many questions in this one and we'll see how we do.
1- 10/22 with tapco stock ($260) versus SR22 ($500)- obviously the SR22 is better but is it over 200dls better...
