rate mike belam

I am considering sending a 10 inch 357 mag barrel to Mike Belam to get it chambered to 357 Max. Who has done this and how do you rate the results?

I sent my 21" tapered s/s carbine barrel to Mike Bellm he rechambered it to his wildcat 308Bellm.

I am very happy with the results and highly recommend Mike for any work related to Contenders.

Mike set me up with a 10" 357 max last year and it shoots like a dream. Only thing is that I wished I had asked him to not install the iron sights. They were a bugger to get off!!

Mike rechambered two 30-30 barrels (14 and a 24 in.) to 308 Bellm for me last year. Got them back just prior to the hunting season and did not have any time to work up loads for them. First power tried, first bullet (IMR 4895/105 Speer BT) both barrels were shooting under an inch at 100 yards. I am looking forward to continuing to work with these two barrels. Mike is very good to respond to emails, Excellent quality of work, very satisfied with all aspects of the deal.

Shot this little guy Nov 2009 @ 210 yards with my 21" barreled Contender carbine in 308Bellm loaded with IMR 4064/150gr Rem Core Lok bullets @ 2620fps.

My son shot his best blacktail buck last fall with the same rifle/load shot was 80 - 90 yards.

Camp Cook, isn't the Contender carbine one sweat shooting and light hunting rig? I bought mine when I got tired of carrying around a rather heavy early Mod. 70 that must weigh about 9 pounds with scope. You do not realize how light a 6 pound rifle is until you carry one for a couple of hours! I took a 100 lb. spike with my 14" 308 Bellm this year, entered the front left shoulder and exited just behind the right shoulder with a golf ball size exit whole; will have to wait for next year for the carbine. Could not ask for any better performance from any caliber.

I had Mike do a G2 .44 mag barrel to .444 Marlin with his comp and rail installed. At 14 inches, this thing is a handful, but shoots less than 1 inch at 100 yds. I want to take the rig to Colorado next year for elk, but I. The interim I plan on having them do my .30-.30 and .35 Remington barrels with their compensator. My pistol in.444 rises less than my buddy's Marlin lever in same caliber. Great work and even better support, good people all around

I just purchased one of his 308 bellm in 21" with his muzzel brake. I have to say the workman ship lookes and feels outstanding. I emailed him asking for a c.o.l and he referred me to his pages to find my custom c.o.l for my barrel. I was very impressed and finally fully understand how to set my true headspace and dial my contender to much tighter specs all the way around. The man is a wealth of information if one chooses to read the information he freely supplys to us.

444 Marlin re-dressed

Sent Mike my a used 444 Marlin 10" barrel (re-chambered 44 Mag) for him to check the chamber alignment, to crown the muzzle, mount a 3-ring scope mount and rings, and matte blue the whole kit-n-caboodle. It turned out great and I swear it has become a tack driver at 50 yds. Unfortunately, I become a flinching idiot by the 3rd shot and have to take a break before going another 3 rounds. Maybe I should have had a break put on it too. I would certainly do business with Mike again.

2 thumbs up to Mike Bellm. First rate act all the way around, also as stated above his website has all kinds of info for the contender enthusiast. Mike was one of the first to specialize in Contenders and probably has a better understanding of Contenders and how to make them shoot than anybody in business today.
