Hi to all, what are you shooting and why? I have a couple of .224 barrels plus a couple of barrels that the parent case is the .444 marlin necked down. Just wondering what other shooters are shooting (this includes both contenders and encores any barrel length).
My first barrels I purchased was a blue frame with a octogon 221 fireball, and a 10" 45-410 barrel. Next was a 15" van horn 375-444 (375JDJ). Next was a 21" 22 match barrel, 23" 375 JDJ bull barrel, 16" 6.5 JDJ , Last was a 25-20. I live in Alaska so the 2 375 JDJ seem to be used the most as I hunt bear, moose and caribou. I want to be like the camp cook He has some Banging Barrels. I like shooting 10mm would like a barrel in that caliber, and have my eye on making a 308 Bellm in carbine length as well.
I reckon I should clarify that the .22 rim fire is a super 14 as is the .222 with a 4x scope. The Hornet is a 10 inch with a 3x9 scope and the 30/30 is a 23 inch carbine with iron sights. I also have a stainless 14 inch in the same caliber for metallic silhouette competition. It has a mounted red dot.
Also I should say that I have an old 21 inch 22 tapered rim fire barrel with a 3x9 Bushnell scope that is so accurate I can hit a dime with it at 100 yds!
