SKS came with original wooden stock which is a darker wood, serial number matches number in gun but has some kind of hard plastic kit gray in color and has grip in front. with storage in stock
magazines are detachable.

go to sksboards.com there you will find everything you ever wanted to know about the sks. i was surprised how much info was there when i got my yugo sks. obviously it sounds like a chinese norinco. most will say that the russians are best then chinese then yugos. the main thing that turns people off on the yugos is a lack of a chrome lined barrel. there are alot of mods available for the sks that it is hard to say what is what.and what was done for compliance or backyard"bubba mods" get set up on sks board and post some pics if you can.

you will have alot of fun with your sks. mine is in a tapco pistol grip stock with detachable mags. i am in the process of trading a 22 pistol for another yugo.

You may have a somewhat uncommon SKS. As far as I know, all the SKS carbines imported by KFS ATL GA were from the Chinese Security Forces.

I have a Security Forces factory 016 and the fit and finish on it is much better than Norinco.

Do some searching on Chinese Armed Police and Security Forces and see if you find anything on factory 141.

This could be a collectors item.

thank you guys. im going to join the sks forum . that would be cool if its a collectors item. now i think im going to put the old wood back on and ditch the tapco kit. i did the research. you where right armed police and security forces. factory 141. went and bought a 30 round banana and a 10 round as well. i live in ohio. so the mag is legal. i cant wait to go bust it off. i got this for 300$ good deal?

Glad to hear it's a security forces SKS. Be sure to hang on tight to all the parts, because it's not really collectible if it does not have all matching parts. I think $300 is a great price if it's complete and in good shape.

not trying to drive away new members just wanted to get him the most info possible. if someone on the sks forum asked about info on the mini i would send them here as we have the best info available on the mini. you would not take your chevy to a ford mechanic and expect him to have the most up to date info.
