There is always a slowdown during the summer time as people do real life stuff.
I am looking at adding a general outdoors section for fishing, hiking, camping,,,, stuff like that, and maybe a survivalism section.
I am not sure if the new sections should have their own category, or just a forum section.
If a whole category is created for non-shooting sports, the cooking forum will be moved into the new section.
Perfect Union is a shooting sports related forum. But usually, the same people that go shooting also go fishing, camping, and do other outdoor activities with their family. so why shouldnt PU also cover those other topics.

Isn't there enough survivalist stuff available on the web already? Just post a link to your other website. There is enough SHTF talk here already in the forums (along with paranoia in the political section). Let's try to be a little different from the other million forums.

I'm kind of tired of the whole "SHTF" talk -giving it it's own forum kind of legitimizes it.
our new resident paranoid/mall ninja Magog epitomizes this - read his posts, I don't think hes posted anything useful since he joined, and I've been trying to be a good boy and not use him for personal entertainment... if a survival forum gets created it'll be the weirdos like him posting dubious SHTF/TEOTWAWKI crap - and guys like me ripping on them (like I did to tap) because it's fun. It'll be not very productive and turn to anarchy pretty quickly.
by all means, be prepared... but some of the crap I read is down right scary if the posters really think the way they post...
How about this, create a forum category called outdoor activities with the following sections:
BBQ/cooking forum
Camping and backpacking
Fishing
Survivalism - linked to survivalistboards, this would not be a forum section but a link.
Sounds good. We all should understand how to survive in the wilderness, that could easily be covered in backpacking and camping. I think the link would give the true SHTF discussions a better place to get and to share a greater amount of opinions. After all, we are sister sites now.

Are yo kidding me? If i wasnt here for some kind of entertainment what would i be here for? Regardless of if its to use the collective knowledge of the BB ,to have a quick chuckle or to check out somebody elses weapon collections.. its still entertainment.
And.. on a side note to Kev... i dig the "new post indicator" next to the threads... thats exactly what it needed
