Obama, is rejecting the claims of the military people that given N more troops and I more dollars they might just be able to ....., and listening to his diplomats who are telling him that our puppet gov over there stinks, that corruption is everywhere, that the army is made up of northern ethnic groups that the majority of people won't ever trust and will probably try to kill, and that there is no way this gov is ever going to be able to run much more than a Burger King in Kabul even if they are given billions more.
We are going to get the heck out of there, I hope! No point in killing any more of our people for nothing.

Pres. Obama spent most of last year telling us how he had a plan, an exit strategy, and criticizing Pres. Bush for not having one. He has had 10 months in office to formulate and implement a plan. While he tries to decide what to do, our troops are dying. Perhaps he should have given a little more direction in what he wanted.
A good Commander knows that your troops are not expendable equipment. He knows that action needs to be taken. The problem is not what we should do militarily. The problem is not that the plans his Generals gave will not work - the problem is all the plans he has been given conflict with his political interest.

Much as many want to jump on this, all he really ever said was that he supported legislation to build it out, not that he was taking credit for the idea. It started out as a network for academics and upper military to communicate more efficiently.
