Finally got a chance to pick up a toy I've been wanting for awhile: the Lyman digital trigger pull gage. This thing is the nicest trigger gage I have used that is still pretty affordable. It'll measure pull weights from 0 to 12 pounds, which should cover probably 98% of all firearms. It's extremely accurate, giving you measurements down to 1/10th of an ounce. And you can easily adjust the pull rod, turning it different directions to accommodate any type of trigger and trigger guard you have to work around. Perhaps the coolest feature of this device is its overall accuracy. It'll keep a rolling average of the last 10 measured pulls, and at any point you can click "Avg" to see the average pull weight. Since trigger pull weights can vary quite a bit with each pull, it's better to take an average of at least 5, if not 10 pulls, before you draw any conclusions as to what your true pull weight is.
Operation is straightforward, and I didn't even need to use any instructions to figure it out. You just push the "Ready" button hook the arm on your trigger, and pull. One thing to be careful of: pull SLOWLY and gradually, the way you'd most often really pull a trigger. Don't yank or pull back quickly, as I found this will often skew your results and make the pull weight come out much higher than it really is.
