Ram-Line Muzzle Brake

I bought one of these from Cabelas. I tapped out the original pin at the front sight, slipped the brake over the sight and re-pinned with the new longer pin. My concern is that the brake is very loose and wobbly on the tip of the barrel and that if fired,it will fly off down range and maybe damage the rifle barrel or front ironsight .Did I install it wrong or upsidedown? There seems only 1 way to slip it on and get the new pin in. Cabelas internet sales photo looks like the brake is on upside down.

I had the same problem with a Mini-14 flash suppressor (it was legal to call it that in 1980) and used a shim made of gasket material which I had on hand to eliminate the wobble before I installed the roll pin.

I don't see the point of a muzzle brake on an SKS. My Father In Law gave me one to put on one of my SKSs. Needless to say, I have not installed it. It's just a useless piece of metal lying at the bottom of one of my safes.

The recoil of the 7.62x39 round is pretty light in the first place, there is no need for any type of aftermarket brake.

Good Shooting!

I agree,NWO. I received a $30 refund from Cabelas and used it to buy 7 boxes of ammunition;money much better spent.

In that case, I'd be happy to take it off your hands...
