Can't upload attachments! READ!

All-

The new software tracks how much each individual has uploaded. And there are limits!

Without limits in the prior software, many of us here got used to uploading anything, any time. This is wasteful of bandwidth and server space, and now there is a new way to track and limit this.

Each regular member can upload 10MB of attachments. At 100KB each (a reasonable size for an upload), this is 100 images.

Many of you are uploading large, unedited images from your digital cameras, and these are 300-800KB each! That means that you can fill up your quota in just 20 pictures!

There is a way to track these down, however! Go to your User CP and check out your attachments:
http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/profi...ditattachments

Find the large ones, SAVE THEM TO YOUR DESKTOP, then resize them to 640x480 or at largest 1024x768, and then go BACK to the thread, edit it, and replace the old photo with the new photo.

I will be going back and doing this for some people, but I would appreciate it if everyone tried to police their own. If purely just to give yourself some more space for future uploads.

Please, do NOT ask Red Star members to upload images for you. They have contributed and receive their membership benefits (increased upload space) in return.

If you think your JPG is 90K but the upload is reporting 500+K, then my guess is that you are uploading the wrong file. Sometimes you can have both a .jpg and .jpeg on the desktop, and pick up the wrong one. To be sure, drop it in another folder and upload from that folder.
