Went to the gun show on New Years Eve and when I got to the next to the last row of vendors and the next to the last vendor on that row found what I was looking for, a rifled barrel for the 835. He had a new cantilever scope mount barrel and a used rifle sight barrel. I got the rifle sight. Had some worn places on the bluing but no pitting or rust and for the price, I didn't barter.
Today, I re-blued the barrel, used a chop saw and cut my Choate magazine extension down, deburred it and blued it, ust Goat-Tuff glue and fixed the plug in the end. Changed it from a 10+1 to a 9+1. I'm happy with the results.
Before I could get started, had to clean the gutters and re-seal them for my better half.
Will bore-sight the laser and scope on it tomorrow and test in on my range. May go out to our farm to try some distance shots.
