Browning auto-5

I have a Belgium Browning Auto-5 20ga. and need a new stock. My question is would a stock from a 16ga. Fit? My stock has the round ball shape on the grip. I found a 16 ga. Stock I assume is also Belgium made because of the butt plate on it. It has a flat type grip though. The stock would be bought from a private person on the Internet. The stock looks close to he same color as my stock now. Also wondering how this would degrade the value of my gun. It's pretty good overall with normal handling wear. The bluing is a little light but nothing real bad. My stock was shortened somewhere along he line. It was my first gun purchase at the age of 14 and would lime to get it back to the way it should be. Any help is appreciated.
